Reed Education are seeking an HR Officer to serve as the first point of contact for HR-related matters within the Academy. This role involves coordinating and supporting the employee life cycle with assistance from the Regional HR Business Partner. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our HR operations, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and legal requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Ensure all HR policies and procedures within the school align with current Trust policies.

• Maintain orderly and compliant HR files for all employees, adhering to safeguarding and GDPR standards.

• Manage MIS and Personnel Systems, ensuring accurate and updated employee contractual details and staff data.

• Generate reports on staff absences, continuous service, and recruitment activities.

• Handle changes to contracts, ensuring they are authorised and accurately recorded on the payroll system.

• Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR) ensuring it is correct, up-to-date, and compliant with safeguarding requirements.

• Oversee the completion of the School Workforce Census and manage the staff performance appraisal process.

• Provide low-level HR advice to line managers, escalating formal matters to the Regional HR Advisor.

• Support line managers with risk assessments for various scenarios including pregnancy, long-term illness, and disability.
