Quest Employment are seeking a reliable and mechanically minded Mechanical Fitterto join our client's team. The role will involve setting up and maintaining a variety of machines, with a focus on ensuring smooth production and minimizing downtime.

Job Title: Mechanical Fitter / Machine Setter

Location: ST4

Salary:£13.72/h per hour (increasing to £14.33/h once training completed)

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 07:00 to 15:45
Friday: 07:00 to 12:45
Overtime: Saturday overtime may be required once or twice a month

Key Responsibilities:

75% of the role: Setting up extruders and various cutting machines to ensure the production of products at the correct sizes.
25% of the role: Responding to machine breakdowns and carrying out necessary repairs to get them operational as quickly as possible.
Perform routine machine maintenance to prevent future breakdowns.
Assist with other mechanical tasks as required.

Skills & Experience:

Strong mechanical knowledge is essential.
Experience in machine setup and maintenance, particularly with extruders and cutting machines, is desirable.
Welding skills or basic electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly, especially in high-pressure situations.
