Senior Town Planner - Exciting Opportunity

The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Town Planner to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and delivering high-quality planning applications, managing the planning process, and ensuring successful outcomes for a variety of land development projects. You will play a key role in building relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, and other partners to ensure smooth project delivery.

As a Senior Town Planner, you will have the chance to mentor and guide junior team members while collaborating closely with other departments to ensure the seamless integration of planning solutions into the broader development process. This is a dynamic, fast-paced position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading planning applications for residential and commercial developments
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on planning policy and regulations
  • Managing relationships with local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Preparing and submitting planning reports, applications, and appeals
  • Mentoring and supporting junior planning staff
  • Ensuring planning applications meet the company's high standards and deadlines
  • Identifying and addressing planning issues early in the development process
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and success of the company's planning projects

About You: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline, with MRTPI (Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute) or working towards it
  • A proven track record of planning experience within a development-led environment
  • Excellent understanding of planning policy, legislation, and the development process
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with a strong will to achieve successful outcomes
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
