Production Manager

  • Location: Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday)
  • Position: Permanent

Your areas of responsibility:

  • A hands-on role managing a team of production operatives.
  • Coordination and implementation of all aspects of Wire Rope, Petroleum Jelly, and Rust Prevention plants.
  • Ensuring that all manufacturing, filling and bulk loading schedules are achieved and completed in a safe and timely manner to satisfy customer demand and OTIF requirements.
  • Ensuring operational activities are managed to cost, quality, time, safety and integrity standards.
  • Manage plant operations to compliance standards including Local, Country, Business, Global, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and HSSE legislation, policy and standards.
  • Ability to provide technical support and guidance for wire rope, petroleum jelly and rust prevention operations.
  • Legionella inspection – responsibility for the routine checks of the cooling tower.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with cross-functional departments.
  • Support with the embedding of Right First Time (RFT) behaviours into production, and support of Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to achieve best LEAN manufacturing practice.
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping.


Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Chemistry, Engineering or Process Operations degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of production operations in lubricant/chemical industry.
  • Good communication, team working, decision-making skills, with a good level of HSE awareness.
  • Knowledge of six sigma and SAP would be advantageous.
