Job Title: Materials Controller

Temporary: 12 month cover

Full time: 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday.

Shifts: 8:00am-4:30pm. Can be slightly flexible if needed.

Our client, a key member of the Materials Control team within the Research & Analysis, is seeking a highly motivated and organised Temporary Materials Planner to join their team. As the Materials Planner, you will play a crucial role in the management of all materials and equipment for production and customer orders. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating products and services for site needs while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain competitive quotes from product and limited site service suppliers, providing relevant information to the Product Manager or Line Manager.
  • Place accurate and timely Purchase Requisitions for materials and equipment, ensuring delivery within promised lead times.
  • Notify Customer Service in advance of any deviations from promised lead times.
  • Generate Purchase Requisitions for third-party suppliers, including calibration gas needs and various services for the site.
  • Coordinate the collection of full/empty cylinders from third-party suppliers in collaboration with the shipping department.
  • Manage regulator stocks and assembly for customer orders.
  • Liaise with Planner/Production Logistics Team Lead for any cylinder preparation prior to off site fill.
  • Update actual stock levels on Stoke Stock Database following stock replenishment order fulfilment or stock take/cycle count completion.
  • Identify and record stock discrepancies or shortages and investigate root causes.

Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

  • Customer-focused with drive and enthusiasm.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, including AS400 & SAP.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Takes responsibility for resolving customer issues and proactively proposes solutions.
  • Ensures a tidy and hazard-free working environment.
