Our client, a highly innovative and successful company with offices in the UK, and internationally is seeking an experienced and confident procurement individual to join their team in Stoke on Trent. With continued investment in their UK production facility and a strong brand reputation, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a thriving organisation.

As a Buyer, your main responsibility will be identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with new and existing suppliers to ensure the best possible terms and conditions are achieved. If you have a strong background in sourcing, procurement, and negotiation, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, this role is perfect for you. Experience in importing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the organisation's purchasing needs
  • Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for the best price, quantities, and delivery timescales
  • Process requisitions and keep management updated on order statuses
  • Understand the target market and analyse trends to make informed buying decisions
  • Coordinate with the inventory team and management
  • Monitor stock quality and escalate discrepancies to suppliers and management
  • Manage the procurement process from beginning to end
  • Analyse and track supplier performance metrics
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage the sourcing budget (Internal and external)
  • Develop category continuity plans
