Ashberry Recruitment is a leading recruitment agency specializing in social care, and we are currently seeking experienced Residential Support Workers to join our team in the Midlands and Stoke-on-Trent. We offer flexible, casual, ad-hoc, and temporary positions with our esteemed social care clients, supporting vulnerable children and young people in the care system.

As the nature of our client base demands swift staffing solutions, we require reliable and professional staff who can respond to urgent staffing needs. These may include covering sickness or holidays, providing immediate support during emergency placements, or addressing safeguarding concerns, including situations involving self-harm, exploitation, or challenging behaviours. Our goal is to ensure continuity of care, so we are looking for candidates who can be available at short notice and on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in residential settings

  • Respond to urgent staffing needs, including emergency placements and critical situations

  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people

  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory requirements

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of young people in care

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience working in a residential children’s home or leaving care setting

  • Ability to work flexibly across 7 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays

  • Access to your own transport is desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (preferred but not essential)
