Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience of supporting pupils with SEND, additional needs, or disabilities? Have you ever worked in residential care, learning disability support, schools, or another setting with people with SEND?

The Job…

Working in SEND schools to support children with a wide range of additional needs- your role is to be an extra set of hands for the teacher! You could be helping pupils to manage their emotions, communication effectively, or to engage with the activities they are taking part in!

Academics provide staff to a massive range of SEND and SEMH schools, so there are opportunities to work with children with complex needs, challenging behaviours, social emotional and mental health needs, or physical disabilities.

You'll Be…

  • An aspiring Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting people with a disability or SEN
  • Comfortable working in school environments
  • Able to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about working with people with additional needs
