Overview of the Role:
Inventory accuracy is the foundation of an effective MRP system and significantly influences the ability to meet production targets. The Inventory Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring stock accuracy, investigating and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and providing guidance on inventory improvement activities. You will be responsible for overseeing Perpetual Inventory count routines, monitoring status and results, ensuring compliance with group and external audit requirements, and supporting the business with inventory reduction and accuracy initiatives.
Your Responsibilities as an Inventory Analyst:
Plan:
- Develop the Perpetual Inventory cycle count plan for both on-site and off-site stock. For off-site inventory, collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to create the plan.
- Measure key inventory metrics and ensure appropriate management of stock variances.
Monitor:
- Monitor the success and effectiveness of the cycle count plan for both on-site and off-site stock. Provide feedback and implement any necessary process changes based on outcomes.
- Report and assess stock accuracy on a weekly and cumulative basis.
- Analyze trends in part number and commodity stock accuracy to identify any required adjustments to parameters, BoM, physical handling controls, or supplier delivery performance.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits.
Reconcile:
- Oversee and carry out reconciliation activities, categorizing reasons for stock inaccuracies.
Train:
- Train relevant teams on countermeasures to prevent inventory discrepancies in categories such as Quarantine, COGI, and Parked.
Strategic:
- Act as the process expert for strategic projects involving inventory reduction or stock transfer.
- Conduct analysis, make necessary data changes, and support stock transfers related to strategic initiatives.
- Lead group inventory reporting, including budget creation and monitoring. Advise on actions needed to improve reporting and enhance inventory value.
About You:
- Extensive knowledge of SAP and a desire to learn SAP transactions is essential.
- Highly proficient in PC applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex processes and ensure compliance.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong influencing skills, capable of working with both directly supervised teams and individuals without direct authority.
