Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Encourage students to develop a passion for music through practical lessons, music theory, and performance.
  • Organize and lead music activities such as concerts, school performances, or other extra-curricular musical activities.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Adapt lessons to cater for the diverse needs and abilities of students, ensuring all students are supported to reach their potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department and school to enhance the music curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive and creative classroom environment conducive to learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching music at secondary school level (KS3/KS4).
  • Strong knowledge of music theory and practical music.
  • Ability to inspire students and foster a creative and engaging learning environment.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for music education and a desire to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school.
  • Availability to start in January 2025 is highly desirable.
