Elliott Recruitment are pleased to represent a Stokesley based client in their search for a Purchasing and Scheduling Manager.
My client, a growing organisation and a leader in their field are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing and Scheduling Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, coordinating inventory levels, and creating efficient schedules to ensure that customers' delivery requirements are met on time. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to support the procurement processes while maintaining cost efficiency and meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
- Manage purchasing activities, including working with suppliers, obtaining quotes, and ensuring they have good visibility on order schedules.
- Place purchase orders for materials, goods, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost consideration.
- Monitor inventory levels and work to maintain an accurate and efficient stock of materials needed for production.
- Maintain supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance for quality and delivery timescales.
- Resolve any procurement issues, such as delays or quality concerns, and work with suppliers to address them.
Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain production schedules in coordination with production teams, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Monitor customer order schedules and ensure we have the correct stock in place to support timely order dispatch in line with customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the operations and manufacturing teams to ensure the timely availability of materials and resources.
- Provide regular updates on schedule changes, delays, and inventory status to customers.
Essential skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Desired skills:
- Experience in purchasing, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain management best practices.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar invoice generation software for managing and tracking purchasing and invoicing processes.
