Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead EHS team in development, maintenance and improvement of applicable Environmental, Health and Safety written programs
  • Responsible for tracking and meeting deadlines for all Safety and Environmental Programs
  • Oversee and administer Safety and Environmental training across the whole plant, working with all permanent and temporary staff on site
  • Have a full understanding of the Safety and Environmental SOPs
  • Work collaboratively with partners and leaders to identify root cause of incidents such as spills, safety incidents, recordables and any further EHS issues
  • Stay updated and attend required Safety and Environmental training to maintain required certifications
  • Conduct partner safety observations (PSO) training for the leaders in the plant. Validating both quantity and quality of observations continuously improves
  • Accountable for plant safety budget Annually
  • Work with HO Safety and plant HR to successfully drive plant worker and comp cases to resolution
  • Participate in initiatives or projects outside of plant(s) responsibility when required

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Licence / Certification in Occupational Safety, Health, or Environmental fields if accompanied by relevant experience and demonstrated performance
  • Experience in creation of safety programs and training programs
  • Knowledge of completing audits to identify regulatory improvement opportunities and ways of improving injury prevention on site
  • Ability of generating reports across audit findings
  • Extremely motivated and desired individual looking for the next step / challenge in their career
