Reed Food & FMCG are recruiting for a Technical Coordinator to join a Food Manufacturing business in Gloucestershire. This role is crucial for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of safety, legality, integrity, and quality. The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Manager and other key stakeholders to maintain and enhance the quality management systems.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct weekly checks to ensure all CPP & quality appliances are operational and effective, completing internal audits and following up on corrective actions.
  • Perform analytical testing of raw materials and finished products, including FOSS analysis and cook trials.
  • Manage general administration to ensure factory documents are up-to-date and compliant with Halal and BRC standards.
  • Investigate factory non-conformances, ensuring necessary corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain supplier approval, perform checks on all raw materials, and obtain certificates of analysis.
  • Audit GMP, HACCP, quality, and hygiene systems regularly, communicate audit findings effectively, and act on issues to maintain high site standards and product safety.
  • Participate in customer site visits and factory tours, ensuring visit reports are written and closed off timely.
  • Ensure all manufacturing equipment is calibrated by trained personnel at appropriate frequencies and that any required repairs are completed promptly.
  • Liaise with vet officials and prepare export paperwork with the APHA and export team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and speed.
  • Strong team working capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Well-organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Previous experience in an SME environment, preferably in the Food and Drink sector.
