A licensed practice of Bookkeepers specialising in offering clients paperless cloud-based accounting solutions is looking for an Assistant Bookkeeper to join the team on a part-time basis in Stourbridge. You will be working 16-hours per week (with an opportunity to increase), supporting bookkeeping activities, ensuring accurate financial records and the efficient use of accounting software and tools. As Assistant Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients
  • Processing and categorising financial transactions using receipt capture tools like Hubdoc and Dext
  • Preparing and sending invoices to clients
  • Reconciling bank statements with accounting software entries
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable tasks
  • Assisting in preparing financial reports and documents to assist clients in the management of their numbers and business
  • Communicating with clients regarding financial matters, to ensure they have understanding of the actions we are taking, and to support in their development of their financial understanding
We’re looking for an Assistant Bookkeeper with:
  • AAT Level 2 qualification (minimum) with an interest in further training
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage accounting software
  • Experience with receipt capture tools such as Hubdoc and Dext
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
