£38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

Main responsibilities:

• Develop products using APQP methods.
• Produce drawings using CAD for Production/Development using GDRT.
• Visit customer to support new project developments.
• Suggests Improvements to product to enhance or reduce costs and improve quality, liase as required with other departments to achieve best solutions.
• Review product drawings/specifications as circumstances dictate.
• Contribute to DFMEA events, advise as needed at FMEA reviews, update in line with IATF and customer requirements.
• Lead CAD draughting resource to achieve objectives.
• To provide engineering information to all depts (including material approval, concessions etc)
• Maintain control of change requests system and drawing record and issue implementation.
• Attend internal/external design review meeting
• Conduct tolerance studies
• Define Design validation plan
• Define new test methods to achieve a safe and reliable product basedon legal and costumer requirement
• Manage changes in Winman ERP system
• Analyse test results and conduct a corrective action plan if needed toachieve a robust and reliable product
• Definition of BOM's
• Conduct benchmarking activities
• Prototype builds and PPAP support including IMDS, CoC analysis, ISIR
• Project lead
• Quote prep support
• Production support for process improvements
• Design in-house test and process fixtures
• Press tools, fixtures and gauges review and sign-off
• Cost reduction analysis and implementation
• Design for environment toolkit(ISO 14001)
• IATF 16949 audit support for design related activities
• Approve components design and PPAP with suppliers
• Conduct design review meetings
• Support 8D and Ishikawa meetings
• Run at rate support
• PSW support

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum HND, ideally Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design ( Mechanical design including CAD or FEA)
• CAD/CAE(Catia, Fusion,)
