Engineering Design Manager required for a leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery and material handling solutions based in the Stourport on Severn, Kidderminster area.
The successful candidate will be taking overall responsibility for the design of new products whilst maintaining the drawings and product documentation and managing a team of 2 other development engineers.
Engineering Design Manager Job Overview- Managing the design department and ensuring performance levels are maintained
- Overseeing the development of products from conceptual drawing stage right through to design for manufacture.
- Being a key contact for internal technical enquiries
- Leading annual appraisals with employees
- Creating drawings via Solidworks and AutoCAD of equipment to customer specifications.
- Arranging for the production and testing of prototypes through the in-house factory
- Defining testing requirements for products
- Previous experience within a Design / Product Development role
- Experience within the management / leadership of a design team
- HND or above within a Mechanical / Design Engineering related field
- Proficient with 2D and 3D Software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD is essential.
- Knowledge / Experience with automated machinery or materials handling solutions is essential.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Competitive Salary
- Monday to Thursday, 07:30:00 - 16:00. Friday 07:30 - 13:00Permanent position
