Your new companyMy client is an East of England based multi-site business who are acquisitive and fast-paced with a head office in Stowmarket.
Your new roleThis is a newly created HR Manager role based on continued growth of the business. This job is for a standalone HR Manager supporting about 140 employees across the East of England and working closely within a collaborative team environment. It's a 'hands on' job where you will take ownership of shaping the HR function, ensure the business is adopting best practices and support the management team. Alongside this, you will be actively involved in managing and supporting HR projects, including the implementation of a new HR/Payroll system.Duties include but not limited to:
- Managing HR functions, including all generalist HR and ER responsibilities.
- Responsible for all HR administration.
- Ensuring that a company's policies and procedures comply with employment regulations.
- Coaching and mentoring managers/supervisors on current company policies, grievance & disciplinary procedures as well as performance management & succession planning.
- Responsible for managing and arranging staff training at all levels.
- ER duties will include handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances, absence management, appraisals, and performance management.
- Full lifecycle recruitment, selection, and the onboarding process.
- Reviewing and advising on pay structures, employee perks and benefits.
- Preparation of monthly payroll data.
- Advise and support senior management on policies, values, and culture.
HR Projects
- Manage and support a new HR/Payroll System implementation
- Support a change programme, including potential acquisitions
- Supporting and aligning contractual and policy changes
** This position is based full-time in Stowmarket, with travel to operational sites based in East Anglia, depending on the requirements of the business **
What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this job, you will need to be passionate about all things HR, practical and down-to-earth with the ability to deal with people at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the HR function, driving best practices across the business whilst also being involved in its growth plans.
- Strong generalist HR experience, ideally with experience of working in a standalone role.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
- A solid understanding of employment law.
- A down-earth approach with the ability to multitask and think on your feet.
- The ability to manage and react to changes in workflows.
- Adaptability and flexibility are key to this role as well as being able to see the 'bigger picture'.
- Sector experience: manufacturing/waste/engineering/transportation.
What you'll get in returnIn return, you will be offered a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 with benefits and the chance to undertake a standalone HR Manager job working within a wider collaborative team for a forward-thinking business.
