Position: Food Technology InstructorLocation: Stowmarket, SuffolkType: Full-time | 37.5 hrs/week, Monday to Friday between 8.15am and 3:45 PM Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience

About Us:Our Special Needs School in Stowmarket is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. We believe in the power of practical skills to empower our students and enhance their independence and confidence.

Role Overview:

To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Head of Education.To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum. In consultation with the Head of Education undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To teach a variety of skills relating to Catering and general kitchen related skills across the school to students aged between 11-18
  • To be a form tutor for students to support them in their education.
  • To teach WMS101 to selected pupils across the school.
  • Take responsibility for setting up the Catering provision at the school
  • To play a key role in the development of SEN provision within School.
  • To work with schools, parents, key agencies and the young people with SEN to ensure effective and successful inclusion of pupils including those with SEMH within schooll.

Requirements:- Proven experience working as a chef in a restaurant or formal kitchen.- Strong understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices.- Candidate needs to be a Driver. School is not approachble by Public Trasnport.- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.- Ability to develop creative and engaging lesson plans.
