Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading biomass company to recruit a Electrical Site Engineer for their biomass site in Stowmarket.

The Electrical Site Engineer role comes with a salary of up to 43,000 + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

As the Electrical Site Engineer you will:

* Carry out electrical repairs as needed.
* Perform planned maintenance, testing, and record-keeping, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
* Inspect and maintain electrical systems routinely, monitoring and adjusting equipment as necessary for optimal performance.
* Respond to callouts during emergencies, including heating outages or loss of services, and monitor systems remotely during on-call periods.
* Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance with detailed records, including photographs.
* Support the management of contractors on-site, including handling work permits for maintenance or upgrades.
* Manage biomass fuel supply by receiving deliveries, testing fuel, and using equipment like a telehandler to handle fuel systems.
* Promote and ensure high standards of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) on-site, encouraging compliance with legislation and policies.
* Report serious issues or HSEQ concerns to the site manager.
* Keep accurate records of fuel supply, maintenance, testing, incidents, risk assessments, and audits using online systems.
* Maintain good communication and relationships with on-site teams while upholding cleanliness, housekeeping, and tool management standards.
* Ensure a strong SHE performance through compliance with policy, legislation and application of industry best practice.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Time-served apprentice in a electrical engineering discipline is essential
* Experience on biomass sites or other similar heavy industrial sites (petrochemical / refineries / CHP plant) is essential
* An IOSH or similar safety certificate is preferred
