Join our team as a Maintenance Engineer and play a key role in maintaining the operational efficiency of a successful, growing & secure company. We are looking for two skilled engineers to ensure our plant runs smoothly, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Ensure maintenance and reliability targets are achieved in a safe and efficient manner, in line with company standards and relevant regulations (Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety).
  • Support operational and production teams during equipment breakdowns and plant emergencies, both during shifts and while on call.

Key Tasks:

  • Complete routine planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks on time, adhering to site food and feed safety standards.
  • Assist with equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to develop, optimise, and improve the site's maintenance regime.
  • Assist in the installation and modification of new process equipment where needed.
  • Attend out of hours call outs on a team rotation (1 day in 5).

Personal Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities as outlined in the company policy.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to plant breakdowns.
  • Ensure company procedures and standards are maintained, with accurate documentation and reporting of any nonconformities.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring workshops and spare parts warehouses are orderly.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider site team, identifying opportunities for operational and business improvements.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in maintenance within a processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering education from Level 3 NVQ or HNC level and above.
  • Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance principles.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems.

  • Physically capable of working in a challenging industrial environment, including high-level work and ladder access.
  • A commitment to safety with a demonstrated low/free accident work history.
