We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee a Decarbonisation Refurbishment Contract based in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team and ensuring the successful delivery of works aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of existing buildings. This project focuses on implementing energy-efficient upgrades, sustainable technologies, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities: 
•    Lead the implementation of energy efficiency measures including insulation upgrades, heating system improvements, and renewable energy installations (e.g. solar panels, heat pumps).
•    Oversee the installation of smart technology for energy monitoring and control, enhancing energy performance and reducing overall carbon emissions.
•    Manage the retrofitting of sustainable building materials, such as low-carbon concrete or eco-friendly cladding, to improve building sustainability.
•    Work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure the decarbonisation strategies align with project specifications and regulatory guidelines.
•    Oversee the integration of air-tightness testing, energy-efficient lighting systems, and other decarbonisation measures.
•    Oversee the day-to-day operations of the decarbonisation refurbishment project, ensuring all activities are delivered on time and within budget.
•    Monitor and manage the site to ensure safe working practices and compliance with health and safety regulations.
•    Direct and supervise on-site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Ensure all work adheres to local, national, and industry-specific decarbonisation standards and environmental regulations.
•    Keep accurate and up-to-date records of progress, safety checks, and compliance documentation.
•    Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and third parties to provide progress updates and resolve issues as they arise.


Essential: 
•    Longevity with current or recent employer
•    Well located to East London
•    Proven experience as a Site Manager in the Social Housing Refurbishment sector
•    Strong knowledge of decarbonisation techniques and retrofit technologies such as insulation, renewable energy systems, smart tech, and low-carbon building materials.
•    Experience in managing refurbishment projects involving energy-efficient upgrades and sustainable building practices.
•    Understanding of the latest environmental regulations, industry standards, and building codes relating to decarbonisation and energy efficiency.
•    Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and interact effectively with clients and subcontractors.
•    Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and oversee the entire project lifecycle, from planning to completion.
•    CSCS card, SMSTS certification, and First Aid training preferred.
