Your new companyYou'll be joining an innovative and vastly growing engineering business that is pioneering their technology and products after securing several large scale contracts with major customers. After a recent Procurement transformation, they are looking to expand the team to help support their day-to-day supply chain and purchasing needs.Your new roleIn this role, you'll oversee the planning and coordination of all purchasing operations for the manufacturing of goods. Your focus will be engaging and managing suppliers through KPIs, drafting supply and contractual agreements and supervising daily purchasing activities and team members.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily purchasing activities
  • Support the purchasing team with line management responsibilities (holidays, RTW, overtime and timekeeping)
  • Closely manage supplier relationships from negotiating contracts, prices and post-procurement activities
  • Oversee purchase orders
  • Maintain the supplier database, vendor updates / no updates and purchasing records
  • Data analysis of monthly performance reviews for vendor's delivery
  • Collaborate with the Material and Sales team to analyse sales forecasts and inventory levels to ensure accurate stock
  • Manage contract renewals and review at expiry

What you'll need to succeed

  • Working experience within a purchasing or buyer role
  • Strong knowledge of ERP / MRP tools
  • Line managing experience is desirable
  • Previous experience in a direct / manufacturing role
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • CIPS qualifications are desirable
