Senior Bookkeeper required for our leading family-run Sudbury-based manufacturing client. Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper on a part-time basis who is confident to work on their initiative to manage financial records, prepare accounts, payroll, credit control and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The ideal person for this part-time bookkeeper position will have worked in a role where they have to handle multiple account duties and ideally where they have to switch to a new account software system. It is essential for this part-time Senior Bookkeeper position your accounts experience has been gained with a manufacturing environment and you are confident using Sage.

The role

  • Manage all aspects of the company's financial transactions
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Review bank accounts and cash flow regularly and assist in the updating of cash flow reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Credit Control management including carrying out due diligence for new customers and suppliers
  • Process monthly payroll and all activities that come with this including submitting information to HMRC and Pension Company
  • Complete monthly stock take
  • Prepare financial statements and reports from bespoke accounting software, and provide management information to Directors and Shareholders when required
  • Complete and reconcile VAT and Plastic Packaging Tax returns and payments
  • Working 2 - 3 days a week (Flexi-hours negotiable) to suit the candidate

The Person

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role
  • Excellent IT skills with proficient Sage experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Ability to analyse financial data and extract insights
  • Essential to have worked within manufacturing
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and politely
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Extremely efficient
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
