NXTGEN is working with a well-established Chartered Accountants near Sudbury in their search for a Payroll Assistant to join a small but experienced team. This firm is known for delivering exceptional payroll services to a diverse client base while fostering a supportive and down-to-earth working environment where employees can develop and progress if they wish. As the new Payroll Assistant, you'll manage a broad range of clients across various industries, including CIS clients, delivering end-to-end payroll services. From handling HMRC queries to building relationships with clients, you'll play an integral role in the team's success and contribute to the firm's continued growth.

This is a brand-new role created due to growth and internal promotions, and they're now looking for an enthusiastic and energetic payroll professional to make a real impact. Whether you're looking for full-time hours or part-time flexibility (ideally 25-30 hours per week), this role offers a great balance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end payroll services for a varied portfolio of Ltd companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and support the manager with HMRC requests.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering support and payroll advice when needed.
  • Meet strict deadlines while handling client queries professionally and efficiently.

What the client is looking for:

  • Ideally, experience within an accountancy practice, though strong industry payroll experience will also be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service.
  • Good knowledge of payroll legislation and the ability to apply it effectively.
