We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant primary school in Newmarket. This role involves assisting Year 1, Year 4, and Year 6 pupils, both in and out of the classroom, to enhance their learning experience. The ideal candidate will be inclusive, positive, resilient, and available to work 5 days per week.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils in Year 1, Year 4, and Year 6, addressing their individual learning needs.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of learning activities, ensuring they are engaging and accessible.
  • Support pupils with special educational needs, enabling them to fully participate in class.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils.
  • Accompany and supervise pupils during non-classroom activities such as lunchtime and outdoor play.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor the progress of pupils and provide feedback.
  • Assist with the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a primary school setting.
  • MUST have experience of working in UK schools
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs of children at different stages of primary education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • A positive and resilient approach to challenges.
  • A DBS on the update service is preferred but not essential.
