We are currently looking for a full-time Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of renewable energy solutions, with a particular focus on electrical design for commercial rooftop solar and battery storage systems.

This role is based in Sunderland with a starting salary up to £40,000 and the opportunity for a performance bonus.

In this role, you will work within the design team, responsible for developing and executing designs for domestic and commercial solar PV and battery storage solutions. It is essential to understand commercial electrical design and have a proficiency in AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge and experience in renewable energy installations.

The role:

This role involves the design and development of Solar PV and battery storage from feasibility to development. You will produce designs using industry-specific software and prepare full quotations and proposals, be involved in producing project-specific technical specifications, drawings and design documentation. You will continuously develop new business opportunities and client relationships and contribute to tender preparation.

It would be great if you have:

  • Knowledge of commercial electrical design
  • Strong knowledge of domestic/commercial solar PV systems
  • Experience in surveying, design, and quotations
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to use design software (preferably including AutoCAD and PVSOL)
