We are seeking a BI Data Developer to join our dynamic Reporting Team. This role offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual skilled in SQL database management and data visualisation using Power BI. The position is based at our Customer Support Centre in Sunderland, requiring office presence.

BI Data Developer

  • Annual Salary: £45,000 per annum

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and data integration solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Analyse and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular maintenance, backup, and recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that support business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and visualise data through Microsoft Power BI to provide insights on trends and opportunities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, processes, and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain database security protocols to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Address and resolve faults in software operations, requiring advanced expertise.
  • Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle and exemplify the company’s values and behaviours.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including a strong knowledge of T-SQL.
  • Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Familiarity with database design principles and normalization.
  • Understanding of indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Ability to deliver data insights via Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
