Pre-School Practitioner

Milk Education are recruiting for 2 x Pre-School Practitioners for a successful growing Pre-School in Sunderland.

Temp to Perm available on both roles.

Pre-School Practitioner Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Looking after the health and well-being of the children aged 0-5 years old
  • Observing children's progress and development, and keeping a record of this to communicate with parents.
  • Helping children to develop core skills, such as mathematics and literacy. This could be by reading stories and playing counting games.
  • Providing a safe and enabling environment for children to learn in.
  • Supporting children by implementing the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
  • Taking children on trips or outings outside their usual learning environment.
  • Encouraging physical activities to keep children active.
  • Supporting children's mental health, fostering an environment where children find help if they need it. This may include working with other teams to prevent or solve any issues.
  • Boosting life skills, such as cooking or using money, through age-appropriate activities.
  • Supporting communication and social skills to help children interact with those around them.
  • Helping children with their individual educational needs. Some practitioners may have specific training to cater to specific needs.
  • Ensuring safeguarding and welfare procedures are adhered to.

Pre-School Practitioner Non-Negotiables:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification
  • Experience working with children in the last 2 years
  • Commitment to helping young children learn, develop and thrive
  • Previous experience working with Early Years
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
