An industry leading, North East based Asbestos Consultancy are now looking to take on an Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their longstanding and friendly team. This role would suit someone who is looking to join a forward-thinking company with a family feel where you will be given the opportunity to progress within your career. You will have vast experience working within a lab carrying out sample analysis of asbestos samples using PLM and stereo microscopy as well as producing detailed job sheets upon completion of analysis. Consideration will be given to candidates from: South Shields, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tynemouth, Morpeth, Ashington, Durham, Gateshead, Barnard Castle, Hartlepool, Redcar, Peterlee, Darlington, Middlesbrough.
Experience & Qualifications:
" Holding the BOHS P401 is essential to the role.
" Will have extensive experience working hands on as a laboratory analyst for a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy.
" Keen eye for detail.
" Excellent IT skills.
" Able to prioritise workload efficiently.
" Able to work well independently and with others.
" In depth knowledge of HSG 248 guidelines.
The Role:
" Carrying out sample analysis of asbestos using PLM and stereo microscopy.
" Ensuring that all samples are accurately logged onto internal systems upon arrival to the laboratory.
" Safely bagging, labelling, and storing asbestos samples.
" Ensuring job sheets are completed once bulk analysis has been carried out.
" Working in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
" Assisting in maintaining the company's UKAS accreditation.
" Calibrating equipment when required to ensure accurate sample results.
" Ensuring the laboratory is always clean.
" Liaising with clients when required, providing support and advice to clients based on analysis findings.
