  • The position offers a salary of £60,000 to £70,000 and requires at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Our client is a leading utility and provider of Energy to the community and the wider UK, delivering sustainable energy management solutions across the public and private sectors. They specialise in a range of innovative technologies and environmental compliance. As they  expand their operations, they are seeking a skilled regulation Lawyer to manage legal disputes and ensure regulatory compliance, within the framework of UK law.
As a Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing and resolving legal disputes related to a range of issues with local stake holders and the regulator, over regulatory compliance, environmental obligations, and commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in UK law, investigation, litigation, with a strong ability to mitigate legal risks and protect the company’s interests either having worked for a utility, practice or government.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (or Scotland/Northern Ireland as applicable).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in regulation, Investigation, Environmental work would be useful
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in public sector or utility sectors is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with UK planning law and environmental impact assessments (EIA) is preferred.

Hybrid working is available, though occasional visits to the office in Sunderland maybe required
