MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Sunderland, with their plans for growth and expansion, by recruiting a permanent Product Quality Engineer to join their R&D department. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the quality and test process, liaising with the design function to manage a seamless and efficient testing process, focusing on maximising quality and reducing cost. The Job You’ll Do:

  • Act as the on-site lead test engineer within a testing team comprising of two other technicians.
  • Ensure test machines are fully functional, maintained, and calibrated.
  • Frequent liaison with the Design team to manage design test requests and provide full product test capabilities.
  • Daily control of the bench Test area.
  • Ensure tests are set up, conducted accurately, then set down in line with Standard Operation Sheets.
  • Capable of reviewing and analysing customer specifications.
  • Management of a functional test plan for input into Master schedule.
  • Responsible for Test request database maintenance & updates.
  • Demonstrate technical product testing and data analysis capability.
  • Management of test data received from external or regional sources.
  • Collate & present test data including relevant analysis within a test report.
  • Manage manufacture / procurement of fixtures and fittings for Test purposes.
  • Ensure the above are carried out in accordance with QMS & EHS policy.

About You:

  • Ideally possess an Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline (Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical etc.) or equivalent.
  • Minimum accepted qualification of HNC/HND alongside experience in a relevant Test or Quality Engineering role within manufacturing.
  • Experience as a product-focused Test or Quality Engineer.
  • Basic software/coding skills would be desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Possess confidence and a positive can-do attitude
