NRL are currently recruiting Production Team Leaders to join a world-leading, global Battery Manufacturing organisation based in the North East of England to support the development and operation of a world class, innovative, large-scale mass manufacturing plant.
This is a unique and rare opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large scale, net zero industrial developments where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.

Mission and Main Objectives:


As a vital member of the manufacturing team, the Team Leader will work alongside the Supervisor to ensure the seamless operation of the manufacturing process. The role involves leading, motivating, and managing a high-performing team to consistently meet and exceed KPIs, while driving operational efficiency, quality, and safety standards.


Outline and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of your allocated production zone.
  • Train and develop staff to enhance skills and performance.
  • Ensure smooth execution of daily production tasks.
  • Analyse key performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead or coordinate improvements focused on reducing inefficiencies, improving quality, and enhancing overall production performance.
  • Co-ordinate zone achievement of QCD targets.
  • Deputise for the Supervisor if/when required.
  • Lead and promote the 5S and any Safety initiatives.
  • Support new plant preparation, installation & commissioning as required.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Commitment to achieving or holding Level 3 Team Leading Qualification.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate a strong leadership capability with a strategic mindset
  • Proven ability to manage people, plan ahead, and lead teams effectively.
  • Highly self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Proven ability to initiate, implement, and track improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in supervising and/or training team members (Preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects to successful completion.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
