Maintenance Surveyor / Damp & Mould

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join our client's team, focusing on resolving issues related to damp and mould in tenanted properties. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to maintaining high standards across a well-managed residential property portfolio.

The position begins as a 1-2 month temporary contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. It offers a competitive hourly rate, flexible working conditions, and access to a company vehicle for site visits.

The Role

As a Maintenance Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring safe and high-quality living environments for residents by diagnosing and addressing damp and mould issues. Working closely with a dedicated team of maintenance professionals, you’ll ensure swift and effective resolution of problems while providing excellent service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct property inspections to identify and diagnose damp and mould issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
  • Coordinate and instruct contractors to carry out necessary repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, addressing their concerns and providing practical advice.
  • Represent the organisation professionally, maintaining strong customer service standards.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Proven experience in property inspections or maintenance surveying, ideally within social housing or local authority settings.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, particularly regarding damp and mould issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to manage sensitive situations empathetically.
  • An organised and proactive approach to managing multiple tasks.
  • A full UK driving licence (essential for this role).
