Employment Practitioner

Job Location: Cradley Heath or Sutton Coldfield (with hybrid working options available)Salary: Attractive package, competitive based on experienceStart Date: To be agreedContract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a respected law firm in the Black Country, is looking to recruit an experienced Employment Practitioner to join their established team. While a small loyal client following is desirable, it is not essential. Local connections to the Black Country or Sutton Coldfield area will be an advantage.

The existing term comprises two partners supported by secretarial and trainee staff, and operates as "trusted advisers" to a diverse range of commercial clients. The majority of the clients are employers/respondents, but the team also assists senior employees in various employment matters.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual looking to "lift and shift" their employment practice to a firm that values strong client relationships and offers a supportive working environment. The role is particularly well-suited for an associate from a Top 100 firm who may feel frustrated with a lack of progression and prefers working directly with clients over navigating office politics and internal meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of employment law matters for commercial clients, including both employers and senior employees.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Provide legal advice and support on a range of employment issues, including contracts, disputes, and compliance matters.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in employment law, with a track record of managing client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to build strong, long-lasting connections with clients and understand their business needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
