Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work across Reception and Year 1 at a mainstream primary school in Sutton Coldfield, supporting pupils with complex needs. This rewarding and dynamic role requires a proactive, compassionate individual with a strong background in supporting young children with additional needs. You will be working closely with children who may require personalised learning approaches and support in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with complex needs, ensuring they are fully included in the curriculum.
Assist with behavioural management, supporting pupils to develop social and communication skills.
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to plan and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Support with personal care when required (though this is not essential).
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with various classroom activities, helping children to stay focused and engaged.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Previous experience as an SEND Teaching Assistant, ideally with children in Reception or Year 1.
Understanding and experience of working with children with complex needs (e.g., autism, physical disabilities, speech and language delays).
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
