Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Business Support Officer (BSO) to join the Meals on Wheels, Concessionary Travel, and Inclusion Centre teams at the London Borough of Sutton. This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave from 14th April 2025 to 6th January 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential administrative support to the Meals on Wheels, Concessionary Travel, and Inclusion Centre teams.

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of Meals on Wheels, including addressing safeguarding concerns and client issues.

  • Assess Blue Badge applications in line with national guidelines.

  • Coordinate room bookings at the Inclusion Centre and ensure room safety checks are carried out, including testing the hydrotherapy pool.

  • Communicate effectively with a diverse group of professionals and customers, maintaining high standards of customer service.

  • Use your strong IT skills to assist with the administrative tasks and ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with professionals, clients, and customers.

  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with standard office software.

  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to manage a varied workload.

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.

  • Experience in administrative roles, preferably within a public sector or health and wellbeing setting.
