My client is a specialist in business-to-business publishing, as an Advertising Sales Manager. This role involves managing advertising sales for two of our prominent titles—World Aerosols and Fluid Handling magazine. This position is ideal for a junior level salesperson eager to advance their career and take on more responsibility in a dynamic industry.
Day-to-day of the role:- Sell display advertising primarily for print, with increasing focus on online platforms such as websites and newsletters.
- Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Make a minimum number of calls per day to an international database of companies, structuring the day to maximize sales opportunities.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, manage time effectively, and conduct web research independently.
- Liaise regularly with the editorial team and represent the company at trade shows in Europe and potentially further afield.
- Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and promote the magazines effectively.
- Report directly to the managing director and work closely with the editorial team.
- Well-spoken and presentable with a pleasant, friendly, and confident telephone manner.
- Proficient in sales proposal creation and time management.
- Understanding of both print and digital advertising sales.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong new business skills with a tenacious approach.
- Proven track record of successfully hitting targets and growing client base.
- Entrepreneurial personality with ownership of accounts.
- Minimum education: A-level, preferably to degree level.
- Must be available for travel within Europe and potentially further afield.
- Generous, uncapped commission scheme with guaranteed commission of 3% for each sale.
- Realistic on-target earnings (OTE) between £40k and £45k.
