JOB PURPOSE:

To provide professional and comprehensive Employee Relations support for all managers and employees across the business, aligned with the H&T values and culture, ensuring a fair and consistent approach across the business to enhance employee engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Advise and Support: Provide advice, guidance and coaching to managers on all employee relations, ensuring decisions align with company values, policies, and legal requirements, including advice from external service providers (Employee Assistance Programme and Occupational Health).

? Case Management: Oversee and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, and wellbeing, ensuring timely documentation and compliance with company policies.

? Communication and Engagement: Foster strong communication and relationships across the business and with external service providers to support employee engagement at all levels.

Legal and Compliance Monitoring: Monitor employment law trends and external advice, proactively recommending and implementing necessary changes to minimise risk.

? Policy and Procedure

Development: Review and update internal policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal changes, ensuring they align with company culture and values.

? Reporting and Data Analysis:

Complete regular and ad hoc reporting on employee relations activities, using data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.

? Team Work: Collaborate effectively with the People Advice team, broader People teams, and key stakeholders to foster a consistent culture of support, engagement, value, and respect in addressing all people-related issues.

? Project Participation: Actively participate in or lead projects related to people policies, cultural initiatives, or legislative changes, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

? System Integration and Efficiency: Support the integration and maintenance of the People Management system, ensuring HR data is effectively managed and utilised for improving processes.

KEY SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

Experienced HR advisor, with strong expertise in ER matters, including case management of procedures such as disciplinaries, grievances, and employment law, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, appropriate for all levels, internally and externally.

Competent HRIS experience, proficient in word processing, and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritise effectively in a variable workload, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively, with a willingness to support teams during critical periods.

Desirable

Ability to identify risks in procedures and practises and propose solutions.

Experience of people metrics data analysis, to drive strategic efficiencies.

Experience of coaching managers, for example through disciplinary, absence and grievance processes.

CIPD Level 5, or equivalent.
