PositionSummary
The Head of Risk & Compliance is responsible for all second-line risk and compliance functions which must ensure the Group operates in accordance with relevant regulation, guidance, any other voluntary codes and its internal policies and procedures.
This includes Financial Crime,Risk & Compliance and Profit Protection.
The Head of Risk & Compliance also fulfils the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF17)for the Group.
Reports toThe Head of Risk & Compliance reports to the Chief Executive Officer.KeyResponsibilities
The Head of Risk & Compliance must balance the delivery of a clear long-term risk & compliance strategy with the day to day operational requirements of the role.The function can call on the resources of the business to help in the delivery of risk & compliance objectives but is responsible for their overall effectiveness.
The Head of Risk & Compliance is expected to be the expert on matters relating to the FCA, Money Laundering,financial crime and risk & control and will be called upon to provide the business as required.
The Head of Risk & Compliance is a Senior Management Function under the FCAs Senior Manager & Certification Regime,the regulated responsibilities assumed under this role are documented within a separate Statement of Responsibilities.
1.Remain up to date with all regulatory compliance issues anddevelopments;
2.Assess product, compliance, operational and enterpriserisks;
3.Own the Groups risk framework and appetite policy and develop risk managementstrategies;
4.Conduct periodic internal compliance monitoring reviews to ensure that compliance procedures are followed;
5.Conduct regular risk reviews and ensure key risks are reported to the Executive Directors and the Audit, Security & Compliance Meeting (ASC);
6.Attend and update the Group Risk Committee in regards all risk and compliance issues and progress made against any actions from the Committee;
7.Complete regular riskreviews;
8.Monitor and report to ASC all internal and External Financial Crimerisks;
9.Conduct or direct the internal investigation of complianceissues;
10.Direct the retail profit protection teamsactivities;
11.Establish and develop the relationship with theregulator(s);
12.Manage reporting,disclosures and responses to theregulator(s);
13.Develop appropriate guidance,policies and procedures regarding the regulations for thebusiness;
14.Ensure that those policies are applied day to day;
15.Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management,seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities;
16.Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes;
17.Prepare management reports regarding risk & compliance operations and progress.
The Head of Risk & Compliance is required to be an approved as a Senior Manager under the FCAs Senior Manager and Certification regime, and must satisfy the fitness and propriety test for the FCA. This approval is in respect of the(SMF17)function. Should the function require authorisation under the SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) function in future then this will also be required.
This is a permanent, full time hybrid opportunity based from our Support Centre in Sutton, Surrey.
