Sutton Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.We are looking for an experienced Concessionary Travel Expert Assessor to join the Concessionary Travel Team in London Borough of Sutton. The post is 18 hours per week. We welcome applications from Occupational Therapists

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

  • It is essential that they have experience of working within a Concessionary Travel team.
  • knowledge of the Department for Transport guidelines.
  • The Concessionary Travel Expert Assessor will be responsible for completing both desktop assessments, and twice weekly face-to-face mobility clinics, to assess whether residents meet the eligibility criteria for a Concessionary Travel pass; Blue Badge, Freedom Pass or Taxi Card.
  • Work autonomously and in liaison with Social Work colleagues to utilise their functional, skills and knowledge of equipment to positively influence the care and support needs of our residents.
  • face-to-face clinics are on a Monday and Wednesday. The assessor will need to work autonomously and have excellent communication and time management skills.
  • An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Experience of working within a Concessionary Travel team.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification.
