About the Role:
Some of the roles of this position will include but not limited to the following:
- Leading on the Council’s preparedness, response and recovery arrangements under the Civil Contingencies Act.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of the Council’s Emergency Planning and Business Continuity policy and strategy.
- Development of specific policies and procedures to contribute to the continuous improvement in designated work area.
- Coordination of the work of a team, both formally and/or as part of a project to ensure individual and team objectives are delivered.
- Ensure work objectives are delivered in line with agreed standards and/or statutory requirements and effectively communicated to partners and service providers.
Our Ideal Candidate
- It’s essential that the successful candidate has relevant experience of working in Emergency Planning. They must also have an understanding of the legislation, associated guidance and industry standards relevant to Emergency Planning or Business Continuity in a local authority.
- The candiate must be willing to be on the emergency planning out of hours on-call rota, this will necessitate some out of hours working including evenings and weekends due to the emergency planning on-call rota.
- Good interpersonal skills and experience of working with multi-agencies and partners is desirable.
