An exciting opportunity for an experienced Homelessness Persons Officer to join an expanding organisation on the upwards trajectory in Surrey.

Homelessness Persons Officer will help deliver an effective and efficient Homelessness Prevention and Statutory Homelessness assessment service to support vulnerable adults facing homelessness.

  • Salary of £35.8k per annum (plus PRP)

Key responsibilities:

Assess applicants' eligibility for accommodation and make complex decisions regarding statutory homelessness duty/ status

Issue detailed and legally compliant decision letters

Provide advice on Housing Options, Security of Tenure, Possessions Proceedings and Welfare Benefits

Take a casework approach to seek out solutions

The successful Homelessness Persons Officer will be/have:

Worked with homeless persons or vulnerable adults facing homelessness

Worked in a similar housing role before (ideally in a social care setting)

Strong knowledge of housing options and housing legislation

In-depth knowledge of Part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996

Able to interpret and explain complex legislation and guidance

The desire to progress with the growing Company

Provided support, advice and guidance in a complex environment

Prepared support plans and made referrals
