About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Worker to join our Child Protection team in a London Borough. In this role, you will work closely with children, families, and other agencies to ensure the welfare and safety of vulnerable children. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, conducting assessments, and working with multi-disciplinary teams to provide effective interventions and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete detailed assessments of children’s needs, risks, and welfare.
  • Develop and implement child protection plans to ensure children are safe from harm.
  • Work with children, families, and professionals to assess and monitor progress.
  • Attend and contribute to child protection meetings and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with local authority procedures.
  • Provide support to children and families in crisis, ensuring the safety and well-being of children is a priority.
  • Manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines for reports and court proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work or equivalent).
  • HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration.
  • Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
