Job description

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specialising in Anaesthetics to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care and a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures, working closely with anaesthetists and other medical professionals.

Duties

  • Assess and monitor patients' health status before, during, and after anaesthesia.
  • Administer anaesthetic agents as directed by the anaesthetist.
  • Ensure patient safety by maintaining appropriate levels of sedation and monitoring vital signs.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functioning.
  • Provide post-operative care, including pain management and monitoring for any adverse reactions to anaesthesia.
  • Educate patients and their families about the anaesthesia process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to anaesthetic care.

Qualifications

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Proven experience in patient care, preferably within an anaesthetic or surgical setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in anaesthetics.
