GSL Education are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher to join schools in Dartford.

This SEN Teacher role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, providing tailored teaching strategies that support their academic, social, and emotional development. Whether you're an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with an interest in SEN, this role is ideal for those who want to make a significant impact on the lives of students with additional needs.

Your Responsibilities as a Special Educational Needs Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver lessons that are engaging and adapted to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to monitor and track student progress.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and valued.
  • Foster academic, social, and emotional growth through targeted teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress regularly.
  • Uphold the school's values, promoting inclusion, respect, and understanding among all students.

Requirements needed for a SEN Teacher:

  • Prior Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) as a SEN Teacher.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting student’s academic and personal development.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
