We are open to speaking to experienced Financial controllers/ Finance Managers but equally interested in speaking to Management Accountants looking for their first Financial Controller role. You willl work with a collaborative and supportive FD who is keen to see someone progress in their career. Hybrid working- 2 days in office.Responsibilities
Monthly Reporting
- Manage the month-end close process for all group companies and prepare the group consolidated accounts.
- Analysis of actual performance vs the financial plan
- Monitoring of contract renewals whilst identifying lost revenues, risks and opportunities
- Prepare monthly management accounts reports for senior management, investors and lenders.
Forecasting and Budgeting
- Maintain monthly rolling income statement and balance sheet forecast
- Prepare detailed budget, working with cost centre owners to ensure the components and the drivers of the budget are well understood
- Cashflow forecasting
Tax and Audit
- Preparation of year end audit files for all group companies and liaise with auditors during completion of the audits
- Responsible for VAT, sales tax returns and income tax returns of all group companies
Personnel and Financial Management
- Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and drive efficiency
- Implement financial policies and procedures that enhance internal controls and improve efficiency of financial processes.
- Improve, rationalise, enhance (as appropriate) the financial systems of the business.
- Manage company bank accounts and credit cards
The successful candidate will need to have the following skills:
- Qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with financial accounting and reporting experience.
- Highly skilled in Excel
- Proficient in financial management software and ERP systems
- Analytical, structured and with good eye for detail
- Ambitious, self improver
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Good people leadership skills with the ability to develop others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A readiness to adapt and embrace change
