An exciting Junior Accountant position in the Hospitality and Leisure industry based in Swansea - this is a fast-paced operational role, where no two days are the same! Would suit an individual with a strong grounding in finance looking for a challenge and the next step in their career.

Description

The Role:

  • Partner with the site operational team to ensure financial risks and opportunities are managed
  • Provide pro-active financial analysis to aid with decision-making
  • Oversee the financial controls and processes, which includes raising invoices, cash reporting, credit card reconciliation, reviewing the PO Log, etc.
  • Populate monthly Balance Sheet
  • P&L analysis
  • Manage and maintain financial records and reports
  • Prepare and analyse various monthly and weekly reports
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Participate in audits
  • Attend client meetings, as required
  • Share knowledge and best practices, and mentor apprentices
  • Some minimal travel required quarterly

Profile

The Ideal Candidate:

  • AAT or part-qualified CIMA / ACCA, ideally
  • Demonstrable experience of a solid financial grounding in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Proficiency in financial software, such as SAGE
  • Knowledge of SAP, desirable
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • A detail-oriented approach and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • An inquisitive nature and continuous improvement mindset
  • Happy to work in a fast-paced environment
