My client in Swansea have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager the role will be responsible for the daily monitoring of process and quality performance on the site.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Lead and engage cross-functional shift team in QRQC meetings to identify root cause and implement timely corrective actions to avoid repeat non-standard events.
* Undertake product, control plan, layered process audits (LPA) and 8D verification audits in accordance with the business audit schedule to ensure Quality records and control plan conformance is maintained.
* Review final inspection standards to ensure operating at world class levels (man, machine, material, method). Implement verification activities and competency assessments.
* Be involved in ZD/8D meetings for escapes, near misses and internal quality problems. Utilising core problem solving skills to ensure robust and on-time closure.
* Manage core QA KPI's for the shift level, ensuring effective communication
* Support product release activities to ensure OTIF delivery and 100% Quality assured product to our customers.
* Raise/report supplier corrective action reports to supplier/SQE, working together to ensure timely closure of non-standard supplier related events.
* Ensure product Quality related documentation is accurate and maintained for all processes.
* Support in all site yield activities.
* To maintain and improve the current calibration control system for all measuring equipment. Ensure all gauges conform to calibration frequencies and MSA requirements when in use.
* Utilise key business systems such as SAP and STAR to ensure Quality record compliance.
* Accountability for MRB process, ensuring meetings take place as planned with required attendees, and that KPI's set are always maintained.
* Lead shift 'Quality Walks' in line with schedule defined by the business.
* Manage customer returns ensuring robust containment and management of all suspect/NOK product.
* Support creation and roll out of digital in-process inspection record cards and ensure compliance to all Quality in-process check requirements.
* Support customer/third-party audit preparation as required by the business.
In order to be successful you will need:
- HNC/Degree or equivalent in materials science/engineering.
- Proficient in computer skills and MS Office package, PowerBi experience beneficial.
- Problem solving skills (8D, Ishikawa, 5Y, IS/IS NOT).
- Manufacturing and technical experience within a metals manufacturing industry.
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Aerospace and/or titanium manufacturing.
