Position: Band 4 Histopathology Technician
Specialist Skill: Microtomy
Location: Wales
Contract Duration: 3 Months (Immediate Start)

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex microtomy tasks, cutting tissue samples for histological examination.
- Operate and maintain microtome equipment to ensure precise and accurate sectioning.
- Process tissue specimens according to histopathology protocols.
- Support the preparation of slides for examination by pathologists.
- Ensure quality control measures are maintained in all aspects of tissue processing.
- Work effectively within a team to meet departmental goals and deadlines.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in microtomy within a histopathology setting.
- Band 4 or equivalent experience in histology or related field.
- Strong knowledge of histology procedures, including specimen preparation and tissue processing.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with other histopathology techniques and laboratory equipment.
- Previous experience working in NHS or similar healthcare settings.
