Job Summary:

We are looking for a Superintendent Pharmacist to join our independent pharmacy, My Online Pharmacy in Swansea. We are a new, forward thinking and innovative pharmacy looking to start operating in the new year. We envisage this role to be permanent, full time (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm) and based at our pharmacy premises in Swansea. You will initially be the sole pharmacist, with support from Medicine Counter Assistants and Dispensing Assistants, but as demand grows so will the team. Salary will initially be around £50,000 per annum, but as the pharmacy becomes established this will be adjusted accordingly.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Superintendent Pharmacist will lead a team of Medicine Counter Assistants and Dispensing Assistants and be responsible for the clinical side of the pharmacy. They will work alongside the owner/manager who will be responsible for the business and financial side of the pharmacy.

The Superintendent’s main duties include:

  • Preparing and checking medication prescribed to the patient.
  • Identifying potential interactions between drugs and providing information to the patient.
  • Ordering stock and ensuring that it is kept in appropriate conditions.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all medication processed through the pharmacy.
  • Delivering NHS and Private services such as prescription dispensing, common ailments, emergency medicines.
  • Involvement in recruiting, hiring and training staff including overseeing Trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants.
  • Clinical governance and adhering to GPhC guidelines.
  • Working with the pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace.

Qualifications Experience and Skills:

  • Registered Pharmacist with current GPhC registration.
  • MPharm degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Clinical Pharmacist.
  • Ability to manage relationships with the medical centre staffs, including GPs.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • A kind, caring, patient focused approach.
  • Advanced clinical skills with the ability to manage a range of acute and medication related presentations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary will initially be around £50,000 per annum, but as the pharmacy becomes established this and the below benefits will be adjusted.
